Varanasi Ghat – Ghats in Varanasi are river front steps leading to the banks of the Ganges River. Varanasi have more than 84 ghats. Most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremonial ghats, while two ghats, Manikarnika and Harishchandra are used exclusively as cremation sites. Some of the ghats are made there by Hindu rulers such as Ahilya Bai Holker of Malwa region, Peshwa’s of Gwalior, Man Singh Amber, Jai Singh of Jaipur etc. A morning boat ride on the Ganges along the Ghats is popular visitor attraction.
